Learn from the past and create for the future! Yearning to know the processes that the Renaissance masters used has ignited a passion in us to embark on a quest to learn skills from the old-world in Italy. This summer, we will travel to Italy and France to learn in the footsteps of these great artists. We will visit some of the most important museums in the world, the Accademia Gallery, the Sistine Chapel, the Louvre and many more. Follow us through our blog and learn alongside with us.

Day 10, June 17, 2013. Risi e Bisi.
We have found paradise in the countryside of Vittorio Veneto! It is an old medieval town dating back to 600 A.D. Our professor is Alma Ortolan, founder and owner of Ortolan Studio. While guiding us through the quaint town, she showed us frescoes dating back to 1400 A.D. Gazing up at some of the frescoes that she restored in the church/monastery of San Giovanni Battista in Seravalle, we were in awe of the beauty of her work and the original artists from hundreds of years ago. In class, we learned the basics of making mortar to set the foundation for the rest of our adventure. We finished the day with a delicious dinner of bruschetta and "Risi e Bisi" followed by a dessert of cantaloupe and apricots. WOW! What a wonderful day!
